Patent in the Foyer | ESTC's multipurpose space from July 1 to October 31, 2021

About the exhibition

The show presents projects that lie within the framework of developing creativity for the elaboration of forms that interact plastically in a space, reflect on a situation, reveal proposals that invite and promote the interment of knowledge and the sharing of formative and research experiences around the scene (scaena), with the aim of communicating ideas, in constant mediation with and for others.

It is therefore a "installation of ideas and actions" resulting from diverse percourses of artistic expression, in a participatory dialogue between the pieces on display, the creative interpretation and the "way of seeing" of the public.

John Berger, art critic, at  Fashion of See  states that "the relationship between what we see and what we know is never established once and for all." (2018:17)

In this peculiar form that each has to look at something, stands the invitation held to the viewer to participate in the exhibition, where each piece created and produced-costumes, props, scenery, etc. -, involves the conception of ideas, the formal construction inherent in the relation of subjects and techniques, the singular interpretation in the composition of each celebrated intention, space and context where it takes place.

From the exhibition are part works carried out by the students of the course of Theatre, Cena's Design branch, in the curricular units Design of Cena, Cenography and Costumes; Drawing; Technologies. There are projects and objects, but also fragments of scenarios carried out for exercise-performances. Conceptual diversity finds follow up in the diversity of means and records, which accept drawing, sculpture, video, among others, making visible that any idea exists and develops in the act of doing.
