Cut, short film performed by the young filmmakers Afonso and Bernardo Rapazote and produced by the Higher School of Theatre and Cinema in the course of the finalization of their studies at our school, is with enormous pride that we highlight that the same was selected by Cinéfondation, the competitive section of the Cannes Film Festival dedicated to school films of the whole world and new voices from independent cinema. It is the first time in two decades that Portugal is represented in the Cinéfondation and the first time in the history of the competition that an entirely Portuguese production is selected. The film proposes a different look at the order and freedom, as well as about its impossible conciliation. For the twins Afonso and Bernardo Rapazote " history is always a guide to the future, more so than a celebration of the past, the film is not about the eighteenth century, but rather about our perception of this time with awareness of the present. Departing from that notion, it can be said that what the film shows is the end of a family: a cut in the nuclear family's waste, in this case the royal family, which represents that core par excellence ".
