ESTC expresses its regret at the passing of Jorge Silva Melo, actor, staffer, director, critic and translator, professor of the ESTC's Department of Cinema in the 80. Jorge Silva Melo founded the companies Cornucopia and Artists United and is a larger figure of the theatre, who loved and divulged in a tireless way, by the translation and enactment of authors of diverse geographies and, above all, by the aggregation of a no-number of actors and professionals of the arts they found in the United Artists a place of construction and projection of their careers, which leaves indelible and enduring marks in the Portuguese theatre.
