The 8th volume of the collection "Biographies of the Portuguese Theatre"  is dedicated to the actor and staffer António Pinheiro (1867-1943), great theatre professional, whose life path is here profiled, competently and rigorously, by Teacher and researcher Eugia Vasques. Supported in documentary evidence, some of which unheard, the author guides us by the long and riveting artistic pathway of Pinheiro, recalls striking aspews of his personal life, underlines his commitment to associative struggle in defence of the theatre class, all of this inserted into a social and professional context that allows us to assess Pinheiro's relationship with his peers as well as his positioning regarding the aesthetic tendencies of the time. Multiple competencies, versatile spirit and fine-tuned work caused their presence in the theatre to be beyond representation, having performed the roles of scene director, António Pinheiro was also rehearsal and teacher of the Conservatory Theatre School.
